Well-known and respected stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger has written an interesting and consistently-funny movie.  It is partly based on a true story.  Andrea Singer (Iliza) is (surprisingly) a stand-up comedian.  She meets Dennis (Ryan Hansen) on a plane and they start seeing each other regularly.  Dennis wants a romantic relationship, but Andrea isn’t attracted to him, although she really enjoys his company.  Dennis is a hedge fund manager who owns a house in Beverly Hills.

Will Andrea’s feelings grow so that she eventually loves and becomes sexually attracted to Dennis, or will Dennis finally give up, heartbroken?  If your close friends have reservations about a potential lover, should you listen to them or trust your heart?  I can’t reveal any more about the plot without spoiling the movie, but it’s very funny and has a nice message about integrity and friendship.  Shlesinger, Hansen, and Margaret Cho (as Andrea’s friend Margaret) all do a fine job.  “Good On Paper” is good on the screen, too!

I have loved the movies ever since I saw “The Wizard of Oz” as a young boy. When Beatle-mania hit the USA, Rock-N-Roll was my greatest passion, but I haven’t enjoyed the current music scene nearly as much over the past 15 years, so that void has been filled by film. In college and med school, I would see movies with my friends and we would stay up late into the night chatting about them. I still love seeing movies with friends and then having dinner to discuss them. This blog evolved out of my desire to tell my movie-loving friends about movies I thought they would enjoy. The blog allows me to do this in a fun way and to reach movie fans everywhere.
