I enjoyed the first three Jason Bourne movies, and, although this one had only mixed reviews, I decided to see it.  I really liked the film and, although it might not be as good as the first three, it’s still much better than most action movies.

Jason Bourne is living way under the radar, trying to avoid the CIA, who still wants to eliminate him.  A former colleague, Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles), informs him that his deceased father, Richard Webb, was somehow involved with the “Treadstone Project,” the undercover program that transformed David Webb into Jason Bourne.  Bourne then starts investigating the situation, the CIA becomes aware of his activities, and the s**t hits the fan!

CIA Director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones) is convinced Bourne wants to expose him and take him down, so he hires an assassin – “The Asset” (Vincent Cassel) – to kill Bourne.  Assisting Dewey in his mission is his ambitious assistant, Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander – 2015’s “IT Girl!”).

If you liked the first three, I think you will enjoy this film, too.  As a bonus, there is a fantastic car chase scene which is in the same class as the ones in “Bullet” and “The French Connection.”  After you see it, you may even feel like you’ve been “Bourne Again!”

I have loved the movies ever since I saw “The Wizard of Oz” as a young boy. When Beatle-mania hit the USA, Rock-N-Roll was my greatest passion, but I haven’t enjoyed the current music scene nearly as much over the past 15 years, so that void has been filled by film. In college and med school, I would see movies with my friends and we would stay up late into the night chatting about them. I still love seeing movies with friends and then having dinner to discuss them. This blog evolved out of my desire to tell my movie-loving friends about movies I thought they would enjoy. The blog allows me to do this in a fun way and to reach movie fans everywhere.
