The experience being far better than the plot could ever be, Independance Day: Resurgence is exactly what you think it is.

Thirty years after the human race triumphed, winning back the Earth in a grand battle with an invading force of highly advanced alien species, the gang is back at it again!  Featuring only a handful of the original cast, we follow the triumphs of – who else?  The KIDS of the original cast of characters!  This time, it’s personal.  The aliens are back with bigger ships, similar weapons, less scary screen-time, and super predictable and tired romantic subplots.

Let’s face it.  This movie is a ridiculous spectacle.  You want to see U.F.O.’s get blown up and aliens get their ass kicked.  That is exactly what you’ll get.  I saw it on a $5 Tuesday ticket special, and the fun of going to the movies alone was worth it.  Brent Spiner is literally the best part of this film, see it for him.

I have loved the movies ever since I saw “The Wizard of Oz” as a young boy. When Beatle-mania hit the USA, Rock-N-Roll was my greatest passion, but I haven’t enjoyed the current music scene nearly as much over the past 15 years, so that void has been filled by film. In college and med school, I would see movies with my friends and we would stay up late into the night chatting about them. I still love seeing movies with friends and then having dinner to discuss them. This blog evolved out of my desire to tell my movie-loving friends about movies I thought they would enjoy. The blog allows me to do this in a fun way and to reach movie fans everywhere.
