The Oscars are on Sunday evening, so it’s time for my annual “pick-the-winner” blog!  Last year I only missed one, but this year is wide open, so I’ll settle for about 50%.  The abbreviations are PP for “Predicted Pick” and MP for “My Pick” (if I was a member of the Academy – don’t hold your breath!)  If I only list the PP, then MP is the same.

1. Best Picture: PP – “Roma;” MP – “BlacKkKlansman”
2. Best Director: PP – Alfonso Cuaron, “Roma;” MP – Spike Lee, “BlacKkKlansman”
3. Best Lead Actor: PP – Rami Malek, “Bohemian Rhapsody;” MP – Viggo Mortensen, “Green Book”
4. Best Lead Actress: PP – Glenn Close
5. Best Supporting Actor: PP – Mahershala Ali, “Green Book”
6. Best Supporting Actress: PP – Regina King, “If Beale Street Could Talk”
7. Best Original Screenplay: PP – “The Favourite;” MP – “Green Book”
8. Best Adapted Screenplay: PP – “BlacKkKlansman”
9. Best Animated Feature: PP – “Isle of Dogs;” MP – “Incredibles 2”
10. Best Documentary: PP – “RBG”-last minute change of heart at 9:30 am Sun
11. Best Foreign-Language Feature: PP – “Roma;” MP – I didn’t see enough of them, so I won’t vote, but it wouldn’t be “Roma!”
12. Best Cinematography: PP – “Roma”
