My friend Katie recommended this movie to me. It’s free on Apple+ and well-worth a look. The definition of “Sharper” is “one who lives by their wits.” A shaper is essentially a con-artist, and this film is about several of them. The movie has many twists and turns, with one con on top of another. There are multiple sections that go back-and-forth in time, each one about a different character.
Since this film is about multiple cons, if I say much about the plot, I will spoil it for you. Suffice it to say, the cast is led by two of today’s finest actors, Julianne Moore & John Lithgow. The plot is an interesting one, and the movie is considerably better than the average rental.
One night, when you have a couple of hours to watch a movie at home, try this one. I think you will enjoy it, if you catch my “grift.”
