If you enjoyed the original “Deadpool,” you will probably like this sequel, too.  It’s primarily a comedy rather than an action movie.  The laughs come at a fast pace, and some of the lines are very clever.  Ryan Reynolds is perfect for the role. This sequel is almost as good as the original.

The plot (or what passes for one) really isn’t important – the plot serves primarily to set up the punch lines.  The essence of the plot is that “Deadpool” (a.k.a. Wade Wilson – Ryan Reynolds) is seriously depressed due to a tragedy.  Deadpool, for some reason that wasn’t clear to me, identifies and wants to protect a rather dangerous and obnoxious teenager with super-powers, “Firefist” (Julian Dennison).  Nathan Summers, a.k.a. Cable (Josh Brolin), has traveled from the future and wants to kill “Firefist.”  Cable went back in time to prevent “Firefist” from growing up and eventually killing his wife and kids!  This sets up a conflict between Deadpool and Cable, but the conflict expands and soon involves other X-Men members, as well.

There’s plenty of fighting, good special effects, and even some spiritual aspects too!  Robin and Noah both really enjoyed it.

Come on in to the Dead-‘pool,’ the water’s fine!  (And warm!  But don’t ask why, haha!)

I have loved the movies ever since I saw “The Wizard of Oz” as a young boy. When Beatle-mania hit the USA, Rock-N-Roll was my greatest passion, but I haven’t enjoyed the current music scene nearly as much over the past 15 years, so that void has been filled by film. In college and med school, I would see movies with my friends and we would stay up late into the night chatting about them. I still love seeing movies with friends and then having dinner to discuss them. This blog evolved out of my desire to tell my movie-loving friends about movies I thought they would enjoy. The blog allows me to do this in a fun way and to reach movie fans everywhere.
